Spring Rec Divisions

Tee Ball (6U)
Our beginner level. Players begin to get a feel for the sport. Practices are limited to once a week and include basic fundamentals, as well as some fun mini games to keep it all interesting. There are never player-pitchers or player-catchers at this level. Every player in attendance plays in the field, every inning.

Midway through the season coaches will begin to pitch to players.

There is no bunting or stealing in this division.

No umpires are used at this level. The score is not kept and there are no standings or playoffs at this level. The season will be ten (10) games long. Most games are played on Sundays, with fill-in games on weeknights and Saturdays.

Mini Minor (8U)
Our first level with introduction to player-pitch (season begins with coach-pitch). Practices are limited to once a week and include continuing to build on their fundamentals, as well as some fun mini games to keep it all interesting. Players will begin playing specific positions during games, however every player in attendance will play a defensive position every inning. Players begin to work on pitching and catching mechanics and a player-catcher is used at all times. Every player in attendance plays in the field, every inning.

If available, youth umpires will be used at this level. The score is not kept and there are no standings or playoffs at this level. The season will be twelve (12) games long and most games are played on Saturdays, with fill-in games on weeknights and Sundays.

Minor (10U)
This is a players first taste of the real thing. Practices are 1-2 times a week and include continuing to build on their fundamentals, as well as more advanced drills. A maximum of ten (10) defensive players play in the field, per inning. Extra players will rotated every inning.

Every at bat begins facing a player-pitcher. A coach-pitcher will enter after four (4) balls are thrown. At the head umpires discretion, this level may remove coach pitching entirely, at which point four (4) balls would result in a walked batter. Players hit by a pitch when a player-pitcher is pitching are awarded 1st base. Players cannot walk on a hit by a coach-pitcher.

This division allows bunting and stealing.

Youth umpires will be used at this level. The score is kept and there are playoffs to end the season. Although score is kept – seeding for the playoffs is RANDOM. Season will be twelve (12) games long + playoffs. Most games played on Saturdays, with fill-in games on weeknights and Sundays. An occasional double header is possible, pending seasonal weather.

Intermediate (12U), Junior Major (14U), Major (16/18U)
These levels follow the standard ASA softball rules. Coach pitching is no longer allowed. Practices are 1-2 times a week and include continuing to build on their fundamentals, as well as more advanced drills. A maximum of ten (10) defensive players play in the field per inning. Extra players will be rotated every inning.

Certified ASA Umpires will be used at this level. The score is kept and there are playoffs to end the season. Seeding for the playoffs is based on win-loss record. The season will be twelve (12) games long + playoffs. Most games are played on Saturdays, with fill-in games on weeknights and Sundays. An occasional double header is possible pending seasonal weather.
