From concessions and background checks to first aid and weather safety, the East Greenbush Girls Softball League is committed to providing a secure environment for every player and guest, both on and off the field.
Background Checks
Little League
Little League International requires all leagues and districts in the United States to conduct an annual background check, including a nationwide criminal search and a search of the National Sex Offender Registry. Little League preferred provider, J.D Palatine, has a Criminal File database that contains more than 600 million records, including criminal and sex offender registry records covering 50 states and the District of Columbia, meeting the current Little League Regulation 1(c) 8 & 9 requirement.

USA Softball
USA Softball® requires mandatory, nationwide background checks for all adult coaches, umpires, and staff participating in youth play to ensure athlete safety. Conducted annually via registerusasoftball.com, these checks include social security validation, criminal record searches, and sex offender registry checks.
In addition to the background check, coaches must complete SafeSport training and, for many, ACE (Aspiring Coach Education) certification.
Medical Emergencies
We prioritize the well-being of our players and guests through strict safety standards:
- Training: Free annual CPR and AED certification is provided to all volunteers.
- Requirement: Every team must have at least one certified adult present at every team activity.
- Equipment: Head Coaches are equipped with First Aid kits; extras are located in field sheds and the Winne Field concessions.
- AED Access: Semi-automatic AEDs are available at all league fields during all scheduled activities.
Visitor Conduct
- The use of alcohol, cannabis and/or tobacco products shall not be permitted on any properties managed by the East Greenbush Girls Softball League.
- Motorized vehicles shall not be permitted on fields at any time except for those used for maintenance or such vehicles otherwise approved by the league’s Board of Directors.
- Motorized vehicles, including e-Bikes, shall not be permitted in the Concession outdoor area during scheduled games.
- Dogs and other domesticated pets shall not be permitted on the fields at any time, unless otherwise approved by the league’s Board of Directors.
